Northern Territory Sportsfishing - Cape Don Fishing Lodge - Northern Territory Barramundi Fishing and Saltwater Flyfishing On The Cobourg Peninsula

Cape Don Fishing Lodge accommodation for barramundi fishing, saltwater fly fishing, and Northern Territory sportsfishing. Situated on the most north west tip of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Cobourg Peninsula is the most western point of Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, (incorporating the Cobourg Marine Park.) and is NW of Kakadu National Park Northern Territory.

Heralded as one of the best fishing locations in Australia, Cobourg Peninsula Arnhem Land is an idyllic setting where fish are abundant and people are sparse. Jutting from the Northern Territory's north coast, this fishing mecca includes Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, encompassing the Peninsula, and the surrounding waters in Cobourg Marine Park.

Cape Don is the site of a historic lighthouse built in 1916 which is still in operation today, and Cape Don Lodge is within the newly renovated Head Lighthouse Keeper's homestead.

The 5 bedroom lodge accommodates 12 guests and provides exclusive access to spectacular coastline, remote islands and unspoilt sandy beaches of Cape Don.

A little piece of pristine paradise, Cobourg Peninsula Arnhem Land and Cape Don are renowned for a diverse range of sports fishing experiences that makes the region a fisherman's paradise virtually all year round.

The $10,000 Cape Don Fishing Holiday competition closed on December 31 2007 with the winner drawn at midday on January 2 2008. The winner was James Lay of Stratford. Congratulations James!
