These reef dwellers are found on or in close proximity to coral reefs, sand between reefs, rocks, bombies, gravel beds and the wreck. With hundreds of GPS marks your experienced guide will put you on the right spot at the right time according to the prevailing weather conditions on the day! (Best of all, most of these reef fishing spots are no more than a couple of kilometres off shore!)
Without doubt, this is the best way to do reef fishing in the Northern Territory.
Reef fish species are opportunistic marine feeders and respond well to jigging with soft plastics, homemade jig heads, heavy metals and the ever humble marabou jig! Our expert guides will employ any method to get you onto these glorious species (including bait fishing of course!) while anchored up or bait fishing while drifting! Sometimes it pays to use ‘bait to locate and plastics to ‘extricate.’ No self respecting reefie can resist a whopping great slab of mackerel.
Darwin reef fishing hot spots include Ardigbiyi Point, Ten Shoal, around Allaru Island, Vashon Head and Trepang.
Come and see why this is known as one of the top remote Australian fishing destinations!
